Sunday's Service and Concert

We got up early and drove an hour and a half this morning to Todd's church where I played guitar to accompany Lynn on the piano for the song service. My friend Mario translated as I preached.

After church we drove to another city where we ate Croatian pizza. It was quite good and loaded with garlic! I was glad Bill and I had separate microphones to sing into tonight! After lunch we connected with Alois and Edith and went to the other church where the concert would be held.

By 6:00, the church was packed! Literally people were standing in the center aisle halfway to the front and all around the edges of the pews. They didn't know what bluegrass was but they seemed to really like it. We had a blast playing for them.

Afterward, we were tired and ready to go back to Todd's house but there was a young Croatian named Peter who brought up a dobro (resophonic guitar). This was humorous because the Croatian word for "good" is dobro. He played a dobro dobro! I thought, "This young kid loves this music and has no one to play with, I'm not going to refuse to jam with him." Alois and Edith got out their instruments and we had a jam at the church.

We just got back to Todd's house and are settling in for evening. I feel another jam coming on!
