The Saturday Session
I then taught and answered questions from 1:00 until 4:00. We finished up the book of Titus in a whirlwind but it was a great day in the Lord. My heart goes out to these dear men who serve the Lord here in Croatia. We found much common ground. They so desperately want to spread the gospel and reform these churches but this is not fertile ground. It bears much resemblance the challenges Titus faced on the island of Crete in the first century. They are planting seeds that will take a long time to harvest. However, God is faithful and I believe the work of the Lord will flourish here and that God will reward their hard labor.
Tomorrow we will leave at 7:30 to drive an hour and a half to the church where Todd pastors. I will preach the message on The Congregation's Responsibility to the Elders as they have just established their eldership only a month ago.
Afterward we are going to have lunch with some of the church members and then rehearse for the evening concert. My friends Alois and Edith will drive down from Austria to meet us and be there for the concert.
After the concert, Alois and Edith will drive back with us to Todd's house. They will spend Sunday and Monday night with us and we will have lots of time to jam and enjoy each other. Todd is planning a barbecue for Monday afternoon and Alois and Edith will play with us in the concert in the town hall on Monday evening.
Me and some of my new friends.
Playing "Red Haired Boy" on yet another Martin between lectures.
Me and Misko Horvatek. Misko is the founder of the seminary in Croatia. I like to think of him as the "Croatian John MacArthur."
Brian finds a buddy bigger than him!
Chris Brackett, Todd's American partner explaining something to one of the Croatian pastors.
Soli Deo Gloria!
