Flatpicking the New Year

To start the New Year off, I thought I would link a few recordings I've done recently. This first one is called Cherokee Shuffle. My buddy Goose is playing mandolin and I am playing guitar. We love to play this one fast.

I developed this arrangement of a great fiddle tune called Rickett's Hornpipe a few weeks back. I enjoy the key change in the middle.

This last one is another old fiddle tune called Over the Waterfall. I recorded with my 12-fret, slothead, Colling slope D guitar. I love tone of this instrument. It sounds more like a piano than a guitar.

Playing these old tunes is a great stress-reliever and a creative outlet. It's also a joy to sit around with good friends and share them in a musical conversation. I hope you enjoy them and I'll post a few more when I get them recorded.

Soli Deo Gloria!
